Teacher Spotlight: Clay Wright

Everything we do at Day Early Learning is aimed at nurturing each child’s social, emotional and educational needs. Our ultimate goal is not only to prepare your child for kindergarten, but also to inspire a lifelong learning journey. Well-educated and trained teachers ensure that your child will be in the best hands possible.

Here is your chance to get to know some of our Day Early Learning team members. This week, we highlight Clay Wright.

Which Day Early Learning center do you work at?
Park 100.

What age group do you teach?
I am in an infant classroom.

How long have you worked at Day Early Learning?
I have been at Day Early Learning for about 15 months.

When did you know you wanted to work with children?
I’ve always known I wanted to work with children in some capacity. The way in which I thought I would do it has changed numerous times, but working with children has always remained something I want to do. Kids are our future, and I’m beyond grateful that I get to help shape them into phenomenal human beings.

How do you like to spend your free time?
Reading, binge-watching shows and movies, playing with my dog (Laney) and soaking up the sunshine.

What is/was your favorite children’s book?
A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo by Jill Twiss.

What was the last moment that caused you to stop and remember why you love teaching and working with children?
Every time one of my kids gives me a hug (or “Big Squeezers” as we call them)!

What is your favorite thing about working at Day Early Learning?
I love working with the kids, but the relationships that I’ve made with my fellow teachers and other team members is my favorite thing. Day Early Learning creates such a safe and affirming environment for all children and staff to be who they are.

What other interesting facts do you want us to know about you?
I have a magical green thumb; I take care of most of the indoor plants at Park 100 as well as the 40-ish that I have at home.
