Indoor snowplay delights two year olds
When the temperature prohibits outdoor play, the Day Nursery teachers get creative. This morning, the two-year olds of the Day Nursery Ruth A. Lilly Center, led by their teacher Sally Coombs, put on their mittens to play in snow–inside! Because children learn best by having “hands on” experiences with materials, sensory experiences are vital to young children’s learning. Here’s a nice resource for parents looking for ideas on creating a sensorary experience at home. Thanks to Center Director Shannon Garrity for sharing these pictures.
