Teacher Spotlight: Kat Christian

Everything we do at Day Early Learning is aimed at nurturing each child’s social, emotional and educational needs. Our ultimate goal is not only to prepare your child for kindergarten, but also to inspire a lifelong learning journey. Well-educated and trained teachers ensure that your child will be in the best hands possible.

Here is your chance to get to know some of our Day Early Learning teachers. This week, we highlight Kat Christian.

Which Day Early Learning center do you work at?
State Government Center.

What age group do you teach?
I am in a two-year-old classroom.

How long have you worked at Day Early Learning?
I will have worked at Day Early Learning for seven years this October.

When did you know you wanted to work with children?
After I first started working with children. I became a twos teacher when I started in the field in 2011, and never looked back. I was born for ECED!

How do you like to spend your free time?
Tibbs Drive-In Theatre with my husband, playing Dungeons and Dragons and crocheting.

What is/was your favorite children’s book?
I love Mr. Panda! I’ve got voices, and it is a true delight!

What was the last moment that caused you to stop and remember why you love teaching and working with children?
Honestly? The last question. I thought about the joy I get when I read and do my voices for Mr. Panda and his friends, and the joy I get out of hearing my kiddos laugh!

What is your favorite thing about working at DEL?
The community. Even though my location is State, I think I know at least one person at every center.

What other interesting facts do you want us to know about you?
Oh, goodness! I graduated with my Associates in 2019 as THE FIRST person in my family to graduate college. I also have a Beagle named Calypso and a Neblung cat named Captain Jack. My Dad read me the Lord of the Rinks series and The Chronicles of Narnia as a kid. And my favorite color is purple.
