Teacher Spotlight: Katelynn Isidro

Which Day Early Learning center do you work at?
Lilly Family Center.

What age group do you teach?
I am in a toddler classroom.

How long have you worked at Day Early Learning?
I have worked at Day Early Learning for about two years.

When did you know you wanted to work with children?
I’ve known I wanted to work with children since I was a child myself. My mom worked at a home daycare and I admired her so much. I knew that’s what I wanted to do.

How do you like to spend your free time?
I like to spend my free time trying new coffee shops, long boarding or spending time with my kitty cat.

What is/was your favorite children’s book?
My favorite children’s book is Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss because it’s such a fun challenge to read!

What was the last moment that caused you to stop and remember why you love teaching and working with children?
My students and I made mud pies recently. It was so fun watching them just be kids! I feel honored to be able to facilitate such a silly craft and amazing learning experience.

What is your favorite thing about working at Day Early Learning?
My favorite thing about Day Early Learning is how supportive everyone is. We all have the same goal of impacting our kids’ development and everyone works together so well to ensure we get it done.

What other interesting facts do you want us to know about you?
I graduated high school with my Child Development Associate (CDA) certification.
