I realized at a young age that I wanted to work with or around children. I have an aunt who was a huge influence in my career choice to work in early childhood education, and I appreciate her more than she knows.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I enjoy spending my free time with my daughter, Maze. We share a great number of hobbies together which are, painting, reading books and potting flowers.
What is/was your favorite children’s book?
I loved the author Shel Silverstein growing up. The Giving Tree, Falling Up, Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic were a few of the favorites that I still own.
What was the last moment that caused you to stop and remember why you love teaching and working with children?
There’s always a teacher that may struggle with connecting with a child at some point in their career, it can be a challenge! Once that child finally wants a hug from you at drop-off, or they finally ask for you to read them a book or just want comfort after falling, these are the moments that remind me why I love teaching.
What is your favorite thing about working at Day Early Learning?
My favorite thing about working at Day Early Learning is the quality of service we provide for our students and parents. I’ve never worked in a childcare environment with many great educators who love their jobs.
