On My Way Pre-K Grants will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis

Do you have a child who will be 4-years-old by August 1, 2018? Your family could qualify for free, high-quality pre-K!

Indiana’s On My Way Pre-K program awards grants to 4-year-olds from income-eligible families so that they may have access to a high-quality pre-K program. Families who receive a grant may use it at any approved On My Way Pre-K program. Day Early Learning is an approved On My Way Pre-K provider at all of our centers with pre-K classrooms. Find a center near you.

These new grants will begin in August 2018 and will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis. Families are encouraged to apply for the grant early.

To be eligible:

  • Families must have an income below 127 percent of the federal poverty level.
  • The child must be 4 years old by August 1, 2018, and starting kindergarten in the 2019/2020 school year.*
  • Parents/guardians in the household must be working, going to school or attending job training.
  • The family must reside in one of the 20 pilot counties: Allen, Bartholomew, DeKalb, Delaware, Elkhart, Floyd, Grant, Harrison, Howard, Jackson, Kosciusko, Lake, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, St. Joseph, Tippecanoe, Vanderburgh and Vigo counties.

*For families who live in Marion County, grants are also available for children who will be 3 years old by August 1, 2018, through the Indy Preschool Scholarship Program (IndyPSP) grants. The same Marion county application can be used for both On My Way Pre-K and IndyPSP grants.

Families in Marion and the 19 other On My Way Pre-K counties (full list here) can apply for a 2018-2019 pre-K grant by visiting the On My Way Pre-K website. Links to electronic applications, in both English and Spanish, as well as a printable paper application, are available.
