Take five to read today

 In Special Events

readingOur friend Travis at Indy Reads reminded me that today is World Literacy Day. Indy Reads suggest that you Take Five To Read: wherever you are, whatever you are doing, stop and read a book (or a magazine, or a letter, or a work related report, or a newspaper . . .) for five minutes at 5pm on Tuesday, September 8 th to celebrate “World Literacy Day.”

I am going to take this a step further and suggest you take an extra five today.  As you wrap up reading your child’s bed time story tonight and your child says “please, one more story….” give in and read an extra five minutes.  You and your child will both enjoy it.
