Available Positions
The School Leader is responsible for leading the day-to-day affairs of the school, focused on providing instructional leadership to promote growth in student learning, and ensuring a safe, supportive and productive learning environment for the children we serve, their families, and our team members. The School Leader is committed to implementing Early Learning Indiana’s mission to empower children with the essential skills to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and develop all members of the school team through observation, coaching and evaluation designed to develop and deepen early childhood content knowledge and instructional practice.
- Build and improve upon a school culture that promotes student success as evidenced by the articulation, implementation and stewardship of Early Learning Indiana’s approach to teaching and learning, collaborating with other teams to ensure developmentally appropriate teaching practices are in place.
- Evaluate instructional effectiveness and establish goals to improve child outcomes by fostering a professional community that focuses on instruction and assessment as the primary vehicles for improving student achievement and school culture.
- Identify, collect and utilize assessment and evaluation data to drive programmatic improvement.
- Partner with the Director of Program Quality to ensure cohesive alignment with Early Learning Indiana’s approach to teaching and learning.
- Work cross-functionally with Early Learning Indiana colleagues to partner with field experts, community leaders and key partners to fortify the growth and development of all children.
- Lead family engagement initiatives and oversee regular internal and external communication.
- Attain, maintain and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and requirements, including, but not limited to, Indiana child care center licensing, Paths to QUALITY™, NAEYC and CACFP.
- Ensure health and safety practices are exemplary and maintained in accordance with ELI policies and all regulatory standards.
- Ensure that each family’s in-school experience contributes to an overall seamless customer experience, prioritizing timely and accurate communication and ease of access.
- Maintain program efficiency in collaboration with the Operations Manager, and in partnership with Director of Operations.
- Manage budget to ensure financial stability and sustainability of the school.
- Interview and onboard new team members in collaboration with the Talent Experience team, and retain quality talent to support continuity of the learning experience.
The Teacher sets the vision for the classroom and is responsible for everything that drives the children’s experience, including instructional activities, the classroom environment, assessments and interventions. The Teacher creates a classroom community that ensures each child feels acknowledged, recognized, respected, and secure and partners with families and colleagues to ensure excellent care and education.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate developmentally-appropriate individual and group lessons utilizing Creative Curriculum to stimulate growth in language, literacy, mathematical, cognitive, physical, and social skills that are responsive to the evolving learning needs of each child.
- Lead an engaging and inclusive classroom experience that empowers children to develop curiosities, initiative, risk-taking and a sense of accomplishment by encouraging children to think, reason, question and experiment, while encouraging children’s independence and self-selection of learning activities through play based learning approaches.
- Establish warm and responsive relationships that allow each child to feel recognized, acknowledged and secure.
- Create an environment that is safe and nurturing by establishing and implementing a daily schedule, establishing a structured social construct through shared decision-making, and providing support for children to regulate their own behavior.
- Maintain a healthy, safe and clean environment for children and colleagues.
- Manage to all regulatory standards, rules and requirements, including those for NAEYC accreditation, Paths to QUALITY™, CACFP and Indiana child care center licensing.
- Conduct and document regular, objective observations of children’s learning, utilizing adopted assessment tools to collect evidence of learning and development to interpret, adjust, refine, and redirect instructional practice.
- Engage in ongoing two-way communication that supports the family as a partner in their child’s education.
- Participate in school-based family engagement activities.
The Classroom Support Professional assists the Teacher in implementing lessons designed to stimulate growth across all social, emotional, physical and intellectual developmental domains. Together they establish routines, rituals and structures to support individualized care for children and foster parent relationships. Positions are available with infants (under 1), toddlers (1-2), Preschool (3-4) and PreK (4-6).
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of developmentally-appropriate individual and group lessons to stimulate growth in language, literacy and mathematical, cognitive, physical, and social skills.
- Assist in preparing and managing an engaging environment that encourages children’s independence and self-selection of learning activities.
- Establish warm and responsive relationships that allow each child to feel recognized, acknowledged and secure.
- Maintain a healthy, safe and clean environment for children and colleagues.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards, rules and requirements, including those for NAEYC accreditation, Paths to QUALITY™, CACFP and Indiana child care center licensing.
- Communicate with families on a regular and ongoing basis to relay information regarding each child’s day and information from the teacher and/or program.
The Operations Manager works in partnership with the School Leader to ensure a high-functioning and well-run school. The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school, including staff schedules, proper child/staff ratios, student enrollment and family engagement, and office processes and procedures. The individual is also responsible for establishing and maintaining a welcoming office environment for the children and families we serve.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the on-site implementation of the necessary operational infrastructure to support effective programming.
- Design and execute a staffing schedule that ensures proper classroom coverage at all times, optimizing consistent adult-child relationships and achievement of learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with Family Engagement team members to complete the student enrollment process with accuracy and promptness, including required paperwork and maintaining accurate information within the customer relationship management database.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, including coordinating building and grounds maintenance to ensure health and safety is maintained in accordance with ELI policies and Indiana child care center licensing laws, rules and policies.
- Serve as the front office liaison to parents and visitors, providing a welcoming environment.
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounting team members in the timely and accurate collection of bills, and execute procedures for proper document tracking, retention, and record disposal and retrieval of student, family and team member information, including documentation for and attendance records of Child Care Development Fund and Title XX clients.
- Administer Child and Adult Care Food Program, ensuring school’s eligibility for maximum reimbursement.
- Operate within budget ensuring adequate supply of materials and resources.
- Coordinate with Marketing and Communications team members to maintain brand identity and exemplify brand image.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and requirements, including, but not limited to, Indiana child care center licensing, Paths to QUALITY™, NAEYC and CACFP.
- Serve as the school building designee during any short-term absences of the School Leader.
