Attendance
Attendance and routine are important for young children. By regularly showing up for school, your child can participate in the learning opportunities designed to support their growth and development and build healthy attendance habits they will take with them into kindergarten and beyond.
Please make it a routine to arrive by 9 a.m. every day. If you want your child to participate in breakfast, please bring them to the center before 8 a.m. Check with a school leadership team member for more information concerning programming and activities.
Please notify school leadership if you will arrive after 9 a.m. so we can make any necessary staffing arrangements.
Drop Off & Pick Up
Please make sure you sign your child in and out each day on the paper sheets and in your school’s online communication platform.
Nap Time Pick Up
If you need to pick up your child during nap time (12:30 to 2:30 p.m.), please let your child’s teacher know in advance so we can ensure your child will be ready to leave.
Late Pick Up
Please notify the center if you expect to be late. You will be charged an additional fee if you pick up your child after the center closes. The fee is $10 per child for the first five minutes and an additional $2 per minute after, based on the center’s clock.
Schedule Changes
To provide appropriate child supervision and staffing, we ask that families follow the schedule they choose for their child at enrollment.
Please notify school leadership in advance if a schedule change (hours and/or days) becomes necessary. If you have an emergency and need to alter your child’s schedule, please let your child’s teacher and a member of your school leadership team know.
Absence & Vacation
Because the cost of operating the center is ongoing, your regular weekly tuition is due even if your child is absent due to illness or other causes or if a holiday falls during the week. Your child’s place in the classroom is held, even during absences.
Day Early Learning provides families with one week of vacation credit each year. Your child must be enrolled for three months before vacation credit is awarded, and it is then awarded yearly based on your child’s enrollment date. Vacation leave must consist of five consecutive business days, and the center must receive advance notice of the vacation.
Your family will not receive vacation credits if your tuition is paid with a voucher (including Title XX, CCDF or On My Way Pre-K). You must use personal days, as available, when your child is in attendance for less than the minimum 25 hours per week required by CCDF.
Holidays
Day Early Learning observes several holidays throughout the year. These holidays vary depending on the center. Please consult the chart below for the holidays that are observed at each center.

Closings
Day Early Learning strives to provide a consistent and reliable program for our families. In the event of severe weather or major facility systems issue (heating/cooling, water, electrical), the safety of the children, families and our team is our top priority. We work in collaboration with all of our partners, local authorities and regulatory bodies to keep our buildings open and safe for everyone. In the event of an emergency closing, the school leadership team will send out notifications via our online communication platform, email and text. You can also check the Day Early Learning Facebook page. In emergency situations when we must close, we will continue to pay our team members and will not issue tuition credits for these infrequent closures.
