PNC’s Grow Up Great Program Makes an impact at Day Early Learning centers

PNC Foundation not only invests in young children, but employees are allowed up to 40 hours of paid time off for volunteering. Employees who volunteer can earn grants through the Grants for Great Hours Program.

“If you were to ask me what my favorite part about working at PNC is, I’d say, in addition to the people I work with, it’s the Grow Up Great program. PNC’s commitment to the program is just phenomenal.” – Sue Messman, PNC Bank employee and volunteer

Our Federal Center received a grant after a PNC team volunteered 100 hours at the center. Because of PNC, Federal center director, Kristi Linson, decided to invest in field trips to expose the children to new things. Preschoolers went on field trips this past summer to Connor Prairie, the Butler Observatory, Indianapolis Children’s Museum and the Rhythm! Discovery Center.

Our Lilly Family Center also has a great team of PNC volunteers who dedicated 100 volunteer hours for the past two years, earning the center not one, but two grants. The Lilly center has been saving grant funds to create a three season room for their infant classroom which will allow children more outdoor time. The project will impact children for years to come, all thanks to their volunteer group.
