We know that many parents have questions and concerns about this process, and we are here to help. Many schools have started to host virtual and in-person open houses for registration. Below are a few ways to find information on a school near you.
Indianapolis Schools
- Emma Donnan Elementary & Middle School – Visit their website for resources and information. The application window has closed.
- Enroll Indy – A centralized registration website for many Indianapolis-based charters, innovative and IPS choice schools. Enroll Indy offers OneMatch, an application that allows families to apply for up to 10 schools in one simple application. The first and second rounds of applications have already closed. Please contact 317-426-3234 for assistance.
- Hamilton Southeastern (HSE) – Registration for this school district is now open. Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2023 to attend kindergarten in the fall. HSE Schools has 13 elementary schools, each offering full-day kindergarten. Click here to learn how to enroll.
- Herron Preparatory Academy – Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now open for Kindergarten. The first and second rounds of applications have already closed.
- International School (ISI) – Now accepting applications for 2023-2024. Prospective families are invited to learn about ISI’s language program, curriculum and facilities. To find out more click here. Check out a fun activity from ISI here.
- Lawrence Township – Click here and follow instructions for registration. Your child must be five years of age by Oct. 1, of the year they enroll, to enter kindergarten.
- Mt. Vernon – Online registration has closed. Visit their website here to find more information.
- The Oaks Academy – Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is open. Click here to get started. Families can sign up for small group tours at any time.
- Phalen Leadership Academies – Click here to get started.
- Pike Township – Click here to get started.
- Warren Township – Online registration is open. Click here to get started.
- Washington Township – Registration for the 2023-2024 school year opened on Feb. 11. Parents can enroll online or schedule an in-person meeting.
- Westfield Washington – Registration for the 2023-2024 school year opened Feb. 15. Visit their website to find your child’s school based on your address.
- Zionsville Community Schools – General information can be found on their website. To find specific instructions and information, parents will need to create an account here.
Lafayette and West Lafayette Schools
- Benton County School Corporation – Kindergarten Roundup took place on April 20 at Prairie Crossing Elementary. Registration for the 2023-2024 school year dates have not been determined yet. Check back for updates and visit their website for more information.
- Lafayette School Corporation – You can register by reaching out to the school you plan on attending and going to their onsite registration on July 28 or July 29. More information can be found on their website.
- Tippecanoe School Corporation – Registration is now open. Visit their website here to find your child’s school based on your address.
- West Lafayette School Corporation – You can learn how to register here.

Activities to Get Ready for Kindergarten
Every school district has different standards for kindergarten readiness, find out your district’s standards by visiting their website.
